Dr. Daniel J. Leizman is a board-certified specialist in physical medicine and rehabilitation with expertise in musculoskeletal and spine care, pain management, sports medicine, and wellness. He previously ran a private musculoskeletal practice in Cleveland, Ohio. After it was acquired he went on to become a staff physician at the Cleveland Clinic in the Pain Management Department, and assistant professor at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine. At the Main Campus he practiced clinically, taught resident and fellow physicians, and performed pharmaceutical and medical device research. Dr. Leizman has also served as a clinical consultant in the skilled nursing facility, SNF, industry establishing and managing patients’ post-acute care rehabilitation treatment plans and working to effectively transition their care to the home environment.

Dr. Leizman has a deep understanding of both the private practice and institutional/academic medical delivery settings as well as the healthcare industry. He has extensive experience serving as an independent medical examiner, reviewing cases, assessing physical capacity and rating impairment and disability for patients, third party payors, government entities, and the legal community.

Dr. Leizman has led numerous presentations and lectures to nurse practitioners, resident physicians, pain management fellows, as well as to colleagues locally and nationally. He has published and presented peer-reviewed research on topics related to musculoskeletal rehabilitation and pain management. His publications include abstracts, posters, editorials, and articles. Dr. Leizman obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania in biophysics and English. He received his medical degree from The Ohio State University College of Medicine and his specialty training at Medical College of Wisconsin.

Dr. Leizman is a Diplomate of both the National Board of Medical Examiners and the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He is a member of numerous national and state medical societies including the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, North American Spine Society, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Academy of Pain Medicine, American College of Sports Medicine, and the Florida Medical Association. Dr. Leizman holds active medical licenses in Florida, Ohio, and Wisconsin.

He is married with three children. Dr. Leizman is an avid amateur athlete and enjoys spending time outdoors.
